Our first time visit to the Alaska Kenai area was beyond our expectations. From our stay at
Ty and family's comfy cabin and homestead to fishing on Cook Inlet and gold prospecting on one
of Ty's claims, we had fun and success from start to finish. By day two we were on our scheduled
fishing charter, arranged by Ty, where we caught our limits of salmon and halibut by noon and
had time left over to sight see in Homer. Processing, filleting, vacuum packaging and freezing
are all provided. On day three

Our
first time visit to the Alaska Kenai area was beyond our expectations. From our stay at Ty
and family's comfy cabin and homestead to fishing on Cook Inlet and gold prospecting on one
of Ty's claims, we had fun and success from start to finish.
By day two we were on our scheduled fishing charter, arranged by Ty, where we caught our
limits of salmon and halibut by noon and had time left over to sight see in Homer. Processing,
filleting, vacuum packaging and freezing are all provided. On day three we were prospecting
for gold in a beautiful creek setting using an extremely low impact vacuum dredge device that
was easy to use. We later sifted through the fines and panned out a nice little sample of nuggets
and dust to keep for our efforts.
There are 3 adjacent similar cabins on the homestead that are modern, comfortably furnished
and neat as a pin. All are equipped with wifi, cable, a kitchenette inside and a propane grill
on a covered front porch. We cooked salmon, halibut and vegetables on the grill and had two
fantastic dinner meals at our cabin. We also had other great meals at local restaurants within
a 15 minute drive and beyond. Ty, and his wife and son go out of their way to ensure you enjoy
your stay and there are numerous places to see and things to do on your own within a half a
day's drive or less. We highly recommend you stay here at your first, or return visit to the
Kenai Peninsula.
Room Tip: Only 3 cabins, so book one well in advance, but leave us one for next year.
